Tokyo gives Dalai Lama cold shoulder

The exiled Tibetan leader, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, arrived in Japan Friday for a nine-day visit at the invitation of Shikoku Buddhist Association and Okinawa Mahabodhi Association.

Japan’s Prime Minister said neither Cabinet’s representative would meet with the Dalai Lama. Chinese Cabinet, in his turn, says the Dalai Lama is not simply a religious minister but a person who declares independence of Tibet and splitting China through hosting meetings and talks with foreign representatives.
