One year after Obama's election
U.S. President Obama commemorated the anniversary of his election today. A year ago Americans voted for a state senator for Illinois, Barack Obama, who defeated his Republican rival Senator for Arizona John McCain.
Candidate Barack Obama made more than 500 hundred promises during his campaign including promises to U.S. Armenian community when he said would recognize the mass killing of Armenians by Ottoman Turks as Genocide. However, the elected President Barack Obama speaking to Americans on April 24, the remembrance day for all Armenians paying tribute to 1 500 000 victims of Genocide, didn’t even get out Genocide. He said Mets Yeghern, the Armenian spelling and speaking word for Genocide.
People describe foreign policy of the 44-sitting U.S. President as “reboot”, in particularly, U.S.-Russia relations and those with Islamic world. This year’s June marked Obama’s call for strengthening political and economic relations and cooperative efforts against extremism and terrorism, when he spoke to Islamic world in Cairo. Peace-loving impulses of Barack Obama were praised: he won 2009 Nobel Peace Prize.
