Upper Lars checkpoint still closed
Despite the official statements which were quoted by Georgian and Russian media outlets, Upper Lars-Kazbegi checkpoint at Georgia-Russia border will not still open, now say some Georgian sources. According to these nameless statements, only technical details are still discussed. “The parties are still at the beginning of talks.
“Whether the checkpoint will open or not, it depends on the results of talks,” said in statement with pointing that Georgia doesn’t hold direct talks with Russia; it negotiates with Armenia, and Armenia, in its turn, talks with Russia.
