No Armenian chess players on the World’s Chess championship
As we have already informed the in Khanty-Mansiysk is being held the tournament of the World’s Chess Championship. There were 4 Armenian chess players included in the list of the participants. Three of the Armenian representatives, Gabriel Sargsyan, and Tigran Petrosyan as well as Sergey Movsisyan playing under the flag of Slovenia, came out of the straggle in the very first round.
But Varuzhan had to put down his arms in the second round in front of the Ukrainian Grandmaster Ruslan Ponomaryov. In the main round ended in draw. Ponomaryov could break the defense of Hakobyan only in time-break making the score 4:2.
