Neither Armenia nor Nagorno-Karabakh impressed by Aliev's threats
Aliev’s war threats can impress neither Armenia, nor the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, said Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan according to foreign ministry’s spokesman.
“These statements are probably made for pressing while these war threats can impress neither Armenia, nor the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. Statements of that kind certainly form a negative image of Azerbaijan in world stage,” said Edward Nalbandyan at the Institute of the International Relations of Japan.
This is a respond to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliev’s statements he made before the Munich meeting on November 22. “If this meeting brings no results, then we will exhaust all hope, so in this case we will have no choice. We must be ready for such developing,” Aliev said keeping in view the military actions against Armenia.
Another Azerbaijani official has made war statements, too. This time Azerbaijan’s Defense Minister Safar Abiev, in particular, said the negotiations in the framework if the Minsk Group consultations are fruitless at least 15 years on.
“In this case, Azerbaijan has no choice but to resolve the conflict by military means,” said Azerbaijan’s Defense Minister.
Meanwhile Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in an interview with Belarusian media said: “We have running rules similar to NATO Treaty when war attack against any member is considered as attack against whole states involved in the treaty. This is a very serious wording, we do sometimes forget about it while this is a real partner relations and obligations including those of military means,” Medvedev said.
