Armenia should resign talks on Karabakh
After Aliev’s war threats Armenian side should leave the negotiations and appeal to co-chairs to condemn this statement, said leader of Democratic Party Aram Sargsyan at press conference.
Aram Sargsyan said is surprised that negotiations are focused only on status of Karabakh. “There are the so-called Madrid principles put on the talks-table, and this means that all key issues are resolved including principle of territorial integrity, if only the Armenian side makes true statements,” he said.
He added: “Before involving into the talks, Armenia should recognize Karabakh’s legal status of independence from Azerbaijan, and resolve and determine its final status joining it to Armenia or declaring via referendum the independent Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh.”
The Democratic Party has proposed to rename the Madrid principles into Yerevan principles, Aram Sargsyan said adding that still there is no respond from Armenia’s President.
