Latvia’s President to visit Armenia
Latvian President Valdis Zatlers and his wife Lilita Zatlers will pay a three-day visit to Armenia at President Serge Sargsyan’s invitation, on December 9. The Latvian delegation will include Latvian Minister of Economy, Minister for Internal Affairs, Minister of Environmental Protection, and some other officials.
Mr. and Mrs. Zatlers will participate in the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Madenadaran Ancient Manuscripts Institute. On December 10 Armenia’s President will ceremonially welcome his counterpart. The parties will hold talks and sign some agreements later after the ceremony. The two presidents will also speak to journalists at the joint press conference and participate in the opening ceremony of the Armenian-Latvian business forum.
Mr. Valdis Zatlers will meet with Armenian Parliament’s Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, and with the Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II. He will attend the Memorial to Genocide Victims at Tsitsenakaberd to lay a wreath, to visit the Museum, and to plant a fir-tree on the Memory Alley.
President Zatler will visit the Yerevan State University to meet with its staff, and the students. He will meet with Yerevan’s Mayor Gagik Beglaryan at the Town Council, and go sightseeing, including the visit to the Yerevan Brandy Distillery.
