G. Amalyan:“What wouldn’t we want for our children to watch?”
The chairman of the TV and Radio national committee Grigor Amalyan today explained that the parameters do not allow or forbid but bring some limitations of time: what is not allowed to show till 24:00 and what is allowed to show after that hour?
“Our approach was as follows: what we wouldn’t want for our children to watch? They main problem is the protection of the teenagers”, - G. Amalyan said.
According to him in many soap operas is shown a reality which doesn’t correspond to the Armenian reality, and though we all know that it is a creative approach and not a reality the children take it too close. They perceive the reality of the films as the world reality.
“Do you know how the teenagers that are still at schools solve their problems, which are their principles”, - asked G. Amalyan and reminded that the usage of the parameters in the USA were implemented when influenced by the bloody soap operas a teenager killed his schoolmates shouting the words of the soap opera.
To the question who should decide whether the historical truths are distorted or not the speaker answered that it should be decided by the commission: “The parameters are neither extremal nor fearful”.
