Gordon Brown: US and UK have made mistakes in Iraq
U.K. Prime Minister Gordon Brown defended the country's decision to go to war in Iraq in 2003. He fended off accusations that the government's funding of military operations in Iraq fell short.
Referring to the U.S., he said that its administration didn’t have clear plans after withdrawal of Saddam Hussein’s regime, Russian Liberty radio reported. He also said of mistakes, made by the U.K. government.
Gordon Brown said that up until the conflict began, he and his colleagues had pursued diplomatic solutions. The decision to go to war was the right, he added.
