OSCE PA president kicks off working visits to South Caucasus
Joao Soares, president of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, arrived today in Georgia, opening the two-day visits to the South Caucasus countries.
Joao Soares is reported will meet with President Mikhail Saakashvili in Georgia’s Batumi. Included in the framework of his working meetings are talks with Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Georgy Tsereteli, who heads the Georgian Delegation to the OSCE, Georgia’s Vice Prime Minister for issues of the European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Georgy Baramidze, Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Alexander Nalbandov, Georgia’s Minister for the Issues of Refugees and Resettlement Coba Subeliani, and with representatives of different non-government organisations of Georgia.
OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President said on his visit to Tbilisi that he is mostly interested in learning the conflict situations in the region and is going to focus on the possible involvement of the European parliamentarians into the processes of settlement to the conflicts.
Joao Soares will pay a visit to Armenia on March 10.
