Turkish Army: suicide toll rises
Sergeant of Turkish Gendarmerie Erdem Ajar committed suicide, shooting himself on Tuesday, Vesti.Az agency reported, citing Turkish papers. Erdem Ajar was married and has a child. Police is investigating reasons, leading to suicide.
This is the second case of suicide in the Turkish Army troops over last week. On March 12 in Polatly suburb of Ankara Lieutenant Ibrahim Unal Sarioglu, who killed himself, was found dead in his house.
Number of soldiers, who committed suicide in Turkish Army since January 2009 increased to 10. Some of them were soldiers and officers, brought to a court as members of clandestine Ergenekon group, which is accused of working to overthrow Turkey’s government.
