Turkey’s accession to EU depends on how it answers to obligations
The EU supports Armenia-Turkey reconciliation and signed between the two countries protocols, said at today’s meeting Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak, who is on a visit to Armenia.
He said the EU wishes for protocols’ ratification by Parliaments of Armenia and Turkey.
“Armenia-Turkey protocols should be ratified without any links to any other issues and without preconditions,” he said adding that Turkey as a county-candidate for EU membership must carry out its pledge.
“Turkey’s move towards EU membership depends on how Turkey answers to obligations,” said Miroslav Lajcak.
