Turkey: University Rector commits suicide
Rector of the Erzincan University of Turkey Erdoğan Büyükkasap committed suicide Tuesday, Hurriyet paper reported citing CNN Turk.
According to media reports, university’s staff was accused of corruption a week ago; on a charge of corruption Turkish police arrested 10 university staff’s persons. It’s not clear if there is a link between this investigation and the suicide.
Büyükkasap was born in Tosya in 1962 and graduated from Atatürk University in 1983. He had been president of Erzincan University since 2007.
