IMF gives Georgia access to 149 million dollars

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) agreed to provide 149 million dollars to Georgia in the frameworks of the anti-crises project. The corresponding decision was accepted on Friday by the 5th reference to the project.

According to the press release IMF has also agreed to lighten the conditions of the project for Georgia. "With the economy now recovering, the 2010 economic program focuses on fiscal retrenchment, which is aimed at preserving debt sustainability and macroeconomic stability and facilitating the exit from IMF balance of payments support," Naoyuki Shinohara, deputy managing director of the IMF and acting board chair said, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Georgia has to reach the changed parameters till March and June of this year.
