The water quality discussed in Yerevan
Today is the International Day of Water and in the frameworks of this day a round table was organized which was dedicated to the water quality.
Arevik Hovsepyan, the Armenian representative of the “Global water cooperation” international network, mentioned that the motto of the international day of Water is “Clean Water for the sake of the world”. Clean water means not only the health of a person but also the guarantee of the health of the nature and the whole world.
The speaker recalled the words of the UNO Secretary General on the International day of Water, the clear water and the corresponding water removing system are vital for decreasing the poverty, for the stable development and for realizing the goals of the millennium development.
“The clean water is a life, and our life depends on the way we preserve the quality of the water we have,” underlined A. Hovsepyan.
According to the facts presented by the speaker there are around 1.1 billions of people on the world of which 17% has no water to drink and around the 40% of people have no opportunity to use a water cleaning system.
The organizers of the round table are the National Water Cooperation, the scientific center of Ecological rights at the YSU, the center of legal preservation of the environment, For Sustainable Water Environment NGOs and “Jinj” company.
