FAAE: Hague Court ruling was a serious blow to Ilham Aliyev
The International Court of Justice ruling was a serious blow to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s statement that Armenians cannot have two independent states. Yes, due to circumstances, Albanians, Turks and Armenians have two independent states,” Forum of Armenian Associations of Europe President Ashot Grigoryan declared yesterday.
According to him, soon international superpowers will accept the fact of Artsakh independence, and it will be endorsed by the very Hague Court. “Armenians worldwide and all Armenian lobbyist organizations should be involved in that business,” Grigoryan noted.
In his words, the International Court of Justice ruling on Kosovo independence is a guide for all countries proclaiming independence and being in the same situation as Kosovo.
“Artsakh independence is peculiar in that sense, since it happened as a result of USSR collapse, and a region got independent that had never been part of independent Azerbaijan,” Grigoryan stressed.
