Gorbachev, Condoleezza Rice, William Perry to meet in Tbilisi
Former and last USSR president Mikhail Gorbachev, former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and ex- US Secretary of Defense William Perry will travel to Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi on September 6, Russian media reported citing Georgian television channel Rustavi-2.
On September 6, Georgia will host a symposium entitled “Global Challenges in a Post-Perestroika World.” The participants will discuss political, historical and cultural cooperation between the Black Sea nations.
“Despite Condoleezza Rice isn’t acting Secretary of State now, her private visit to Georgia is very important,” referred to the upcoming visits the US Ambassador to Georgia John Bas. He said: “Condoleezza Rice will arrive with a delegation of quite personable officials.”
Reportedly, the symposium will mostly take place in the capital of Autonomous Adjara, Batumi.
