Netanyahu hopes peace deal possible within a year
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he hopes that the peace agreement with Palestinians will be reached within a year.
“This is possible despite the huge differences,” media quoted Benjamin Netanyahu as saying citing Netanyahu’s spokesman Nir Hefez.
Netanyahu told the visiting U.S. congressmen on Monday: “I believe it is possible through such direct and contiguous negotiations, held without breaks or delays, to achieve a peace agreement within a year.”
Netanyahu stressed that it is possible to agree on the establishment of a Palestinian state, which is among goals of the direct talks between the leaders of the two countries, through assistance and supporters of the Quartet of Middle East power brokers (the U.S., European Union, United Nations and Russia).
