President Saakashvili of Georgia to meet with US congressmen
A delegation of the U.S. House of Representatives arrived in Georgia on Monday. Among delegates are congressmen Jane Harman and Peter Welch (Democrats), Charlie Dent and Cynthia Loomis (Republicans). The delegation is headed by Democrat Jim Marshall.
Within the framework of the visit, US officials will meet with Georgia’s President Mikheil Saakashvili, Speaker of the Parliament David Bakradze, Georgian lawmakers and politicians.
The U.S. Embassy press office said in the statement that included on agenda are items related to Georgia-US relations, US’s support of political and economical reforms in Georgia, and Georgia’s contribution to the International Security Assistance Force in the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan.
