Turkey to face decline in vegetable and fruit harvest

In 2010, vegetable harvest in Turkey will decline by 0,9% reaching 26,5 million tones, and fruit harvest will decline by 1,5% reaching 16,4 million tones, according to the Turkish Institute of Statistics. 

Mostly the decline will be registered in tomato harvest (4,5% fall), zucchini (-10,1%), carrots (-5,1%); apples (-12,3%), and apricots (-31,9%).
