Sharmazanov: Turkey, Azerbaijan should follow Serbia’s example
“It was indeed a humanitarian act testifying that Serbia and Serbian President are bearers of European values. Just like German leaders formerly apologized to the Jewish people for committing genocide, Serbia also demonstrates supremacy of universal values in Eurasia Region,” RPA Spokesman Eduard Sharmazanov told Aysor.am commenting upon Serbian President’s visit and statements voiced in Croatia.
Note that Thursday, November 4, Serbian President Boris Tadic traveled to Croatia and apologized for Vukovar massacre committed by Serbs.
According to the parliamentarian, instead of making imitation, Turkish leaders should follow Serbia’s example and apologize for the Genocide of 1.5 million Armenians.
Sharmazanov said that Serbia should be also a good example for Azerbaijan. On the threshold of the elections Azerbaijan had better learn lessons from history and apologize to the Armenian people for committing ethnic cleansings in Baku, Sumgayit, Kirovabad as well as in Artsakh.
