Armenia can raise issue of Saribekyan’s killing at European Court

Armenia has filed a criminal case on Manvel Saribekyan’s killing, but we should also raise the issue at international instances, Secretary of the Heritage parliamentary faction Larisa Alaverdyan told reporters in Yerevan.

According to Alaverdyan, all five parliamentary factions gathered signatures and applied to UN, OSCE, European Union and Council of Europe to draw their attention to the fact of Saribekyan’s killing, but they have not replied to the letter so far.

Alaverdyan said soon she will make a new letter for international organizations and will pursue getting a reply.

The speaker stressed that Armenia can raise the issue at the European Court.

“Saribekyan’s parents can also apply to the International Court as well as to the UN Committee Against Torture demanding to punish those guilty of killing their son.”
