Murad Muradyan hands over his credentials to Iraqi President
Ambassador of Armenia to Iraq Murad Muradyan handed over his credentials to Iraqi President Jalal Talabani on November 23, MFA press office said.
The official ceremony was followed by tete-a-tete talk.
President Talabani expressing satisfaction with reopening the Embassy of Armenia in Iraq stressed importance of opening Embassy of Iraq in Armenia taking into consideration the fact that presently many Iraqi Armenians live in Armenia.
The Ambassador congratulated Talabani’s reelection, conveyed Armenian President’s best regards and invitation to visit Armenia. The Ambassador stressed friendly relations between Armenia and Iraq noting that centuries-old presence of Armenians in Iraq, their contribution to Iraq’s development, mutual sympathy of the two peoples build a stable ground for further intensification of Armenian-Iraqi friendship and cooperation in trade and economic, cultural, humanitarian and other sectors.
President Talabani congratulated Murad Muradyan on his assumption of diplomatic mission, wished him every success and in return conveyed invitation to Armenian President to visit Iraq.
