We will create counterbalance against Turkey-Azerbaijan tandem
Armenian President’s visits to Greece and Cyprus, his statements and agreements in those countries come from his initiative foreign policy, member of the RPA parliamentary faction Gagik Minasyan told a press conference in Yerevan.
In his words, President’s visits to Cyprus and Greece fit into three aspects – bilateral, European Union-Armenia and regional interrelations.
He attached importance to the fact that EU member, Cyprus, standing for the priority of the principle of territorial integrity, nevertheless, expressed readiness to support the Nagorno Karabakh people in exercise of the right of self-determination.
According to the speaker, it is important that three states – Armenia, Cyprus and Greece – clarified their positions on Turkey’s policy.
“Turkey obviously carried out blackmail policy, and the heads of all three states condemned Turkey’s position,” he said.
Minasyan expressed the hope that the Armenia-Greece-Cyprus cooperation will advance and develop within international instances and will come as a counterbalance against Turkey-Azerbaijan tandem.
