Hayk Demoyan: No expiration date for recognition of genocide
“The denial of the Armenian Genocide should be punished in a European country which has democratic values as it is a manifestation of racism,” said Hayk Demoyan the Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute in Yerevan, Armenia, speaking of the criminalization of the denial of Armenian Genocide by the Senate of France.
Speaking on Armenian – Turkish protocols H. Demoyan mentioned that it is a “dead” document now. Nevertheless Turkey tries to “get” something from it pushing Armenia into a historical fact proving process. However, H. Demoyan thinks it will not happen and will stay like dream for the Turkish.
As for the belief that it will not be possible to speak about the recognition of the Genocide when the 100th year of the tragic event passes Demoyan mentioned that there can’t be such a thing as there is no such document where you can find an expiration date for genocide.
