Seyran Ohanayan receives Philippe Lefort

On January 31 Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan received a delegation led by EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia Philippe Lefort, Defense Ministry’s press office reported. At the meeting, the sides discussed the Karabakh settlement process and issues concerning the Armenia-EU defense cooperation.

The two highlighted the necessity of taking action towards easing tension at the line of contact between Karabakh and Azerbaijani troops, particularly taking measures to strengthen mutual confidence. They have attached importance to introduction of international mechanisms for unbiased investigation of ceasefire violations on the front line.

Seyran Ohanyan and Philippe Lefort have noticed that there are many prospects for development of the Armenian and UE cooperation in the sphere of defense, the Ministry of Defense reports.
