US drone hits Pakistan
Pakistani officials say a suspected U.S. drone strike has killed 10 people in the country's northwest tribal region near the border with Afghanistan.
Officials say two missiles hit a compound suspected of belonging to militants in the North Waziristan tribal area. Security officials say the dead included some foreign and local militants, the Voice of America reports.
It was the fifth such strike this year.
In Wednesday’s attack, a drone fired two missiles at a house suspected of being a militant hideout in the village of Thapi, about 10 miles east of Miranshah, the main town in North Waziristan, the New York Times reports.
