Dmitry Medvedev visited the Kurils
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has payed a visit to the disputed Kuril Islands, the BBC reports.
In his latest visit, Mr Medvedev led a delegation including Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets, Far East presidential envoy Viktor Ishaev and Regional Development Minister Oleg Govorun.
The prime minister is expected to inspect a range of industrial and social projects as well as meet local residents, Russian state media said.
Mr Medvedev's first visit to the Kurils, as president in 2010, drew a furious reaction from Japan, which described it as an "unforgivable outrage".
