Money extorted from beneficiaries returned

Hraparak daily dwelt on its earlier report that Paros project employees attempted to extort money from beneficiaries in Ashtarak. According to the paper, postal workers told beneficiaries that they are due to pay AMD 5,000 in property taxes.

“Haypost said on Monday that postal workers have no connection to the fraud. However, we have reliable information that the chief of Ashtarak post office was summoned to the police station, with postal workers suspected of having participated in the fraud scheme. Money extorted from beneficiaries was returned on Monday. Police press service said that police prepare materials based on our publication,” the paper writes.
