Military Commissioner Sergey Chalyan to be sacked
Armenia’s Military Commissioner Sergey Chalyan will be sacked soon, Zhoghovurd reports. He is on vacation and is likely not to return to his work.
According to Zhoghovurd’s sources, possible appointment of Garegin Gabrielyan, former Commander of RA Police Troops, nicknamed Gel, as Military Commissioner is being discussed these days.
Garegin Gabrielyan was relieved of his duties for misuse of official position and illegal sale of arms, ammunition and military equipment spare parts, the paper reminds.
Armenian Defense Ministry spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisyan dismissed the rumors about Gabrielyan’s possible appointment as Military Commissioner.
“We will comment when we have a corresponding decree,” he said.
