Villas-Boas: Modric continues to train alone
Andre Villas-Boas continued his firm attitude with Luka Modric last night as Tottenham suffered their first defeat under his leadership, Express.co.uk reported.
Villas-Boas reiterated Tottenham's stance, he told Spanish media: "Luka Modric continues to train alone. It is a pact between us and he will be until we get a solution to his future."
Real Madrid have yet to put in an offer which has lived up to Tottenham's $40m expectations and as a result the clubs' negotiations have reached standstill.
Villas-Boas added: "Madrid has not offered what the President wants. We need to get Modric back mentally and if no suitable offer comes he will not go.
"The contacts we have had with other clubs have not met with what Tottenham wants for the player.
"We respect the size of Madrid and the other interested clubs, but they must respect what we are doing too."
