Armen Yeritsyan: Armenian humanitarian aid reaches Iran
“We are ready to dispatch more humanitarian aid to Iran, if necessary,” Armenian Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan told reporters in Yerevan and added that Armenia sent AMD 57m worth of humanitarian aid to Iran after an earthquake hit northeastern Iran on August 11.
5 vehicles carrying humanitarian assistance provided by the Armenian government headed for Iran on August 17. The aid supplies included sheets, beds, food, etc. Sunday evening, the quake relief reached the crisis center 20km from the Iranian town of Julfa.
314 villages were affected by the Iran earthquake. More than 300,000 people were injured.
