Armenian-populated town Kesab in Syria attacked
Attacks on the Armenian-populated town of Kesab in Syria were launched from three border points in Turkey, Yerakouyn.com said. The attacks began around 5 am today. Some residents retreated to mountains to avoid danger, others left for Latakia.
The town is now being defended by Syrian military who try to repel the militants. Victims were reported as a result of attacks, but not among Armenians. Fighting in Kesab continues.
“One of the key achievements of the project implemented with UNDP/GEF support is the inclusion and support of extra-curricular environmental education as a strategic approach. This was a direct result of the series of roundtables jointly organized with EEN members and policymakers,” adds Sahakyan.
