Diaspora minister: About 670 Armenian families deported from Kesab
670 Armenian families have been deported from the town of Kesab in northwestern Syria, 400 of which are currently in Latakia, Damascus, Beirut, and Aynchar. 200 people are now on the premises of Surb Astvatsatsin Church. 24 out of 38 hostages were released, three are in Vakkh. Contact is maintained with the Armenians remaining in Kesab, Armenian Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobian said at the government session today.
In her words, children go to school in Aynchar. The church, parties, other organizations help Armenians providing them with food and clothes.
Hranush Hakobian again stressed the importance of assisting Armenians of Kesab through various structures, including the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund.
