President Serzh Sargsyan accepts government resignation
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on April 4 accepted the resignation of the government, according to the presidential press service.
“Pursuant to point 4 of Article 55 of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia and taking as a basis the resignation handed in by Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, I decide to accept the resignation of the government,” the presidential decree says.
Under the decree, the cabinet members will continue to discharge their obligations until a new government is formed.
Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan who served as head of government from April 9, 2008, handed in his resignation last evening. The president and the Republican Party of Armenia accepted his resignation.
