Hakob Injighulian’s relatives stage protest outside ICRC Yerevan Office
Relatives of Armenian servicemen Hakob Injighulian held captive in Azerbaijan staged another protest today outside the Yerevan Office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
“We have not had any news of my brother for a long time. ICRC representatives only say that the UN is now dealing with his issue and they have no power to say anything. Our demand is that they should inform us about the processes aimed at ensuring the return of my brother from Azerbaijan,” Hakob Injighulian’s brother, Harutyun, told the correspondent of Aysor.am.
In his words, after the protest action today, ICRC representative Sarah Epprecht received them and said again that the UN is dealing with Hakob Injighulian’s issue: they are looking for a third country for him.
“We asked her whether the ICRC has power to request information from the UN about the ongoing processes. Sarah Epprecht promised to try to get answers to our questions during the next exchange of letters,” Harutyun Injighulian said.
We would remind you that around 3 am on August 8, 2013, Hakob Injighulian crossed into Azerbaijani territory after losing his way.
