Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamian responds to HAK statement
In an interview with Tert.am, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamian has responded to the statement issued yesterday by Armenian National Congress (HAK).
Question: Mr. Abrahamian, HAK issued a statement saying that the main goal of the four non-coalition parties should be removal of Serzh Sargsyan’s regime. Could you please comment on that statement?
Answer: You know, I cooperated quite effectively with deputies of the same HAK in the National Assembly and we managed to improve numerous legislative initiatives or implement some initiatives aimed at development. I am sure that we together with Gagik Jangirian, Hrant Bagratian, Lyudmila Sargsyan, Aram Manukian and our other colleagues would do more positive things if I remained in the National Assembly. I am more than sure that our joint work can provide a double benefit to Armenia and I will try to cooperate with my colleagues from the parliament.
As regards the statement you have mentioned, I have never accepted such a work style when people engage in squabbles on the sly. If someone thinks that nobody notices their ambitions exceeding their real capability and their desire to profit at others’ expense, they are mistaken. Times have changed: our society is interested in solution of the existing problems and unification of all the forces to ensure a socioeconomic growth, rather than in engaging in various ‘non-urgent’ intrigues. One should enjoy old age, instead of doing everything possible so that there will be a bad situation in Armenia”.
