Alaverdian: Injighulian can be brought to Armenia from third country
“If Armenian serviceman Hakob Injighulian expressed a wish to be handed over to a third country, I think it will happen. Later we will be able to bring him back to Armenia,” human rights activist Ms. Larisa Alaverdian told reporters.
Hakob Injighulian crossed into Azerbaijani territory on the night of August 8, 2013.
According to L. Alaverdian, Azerbaijan tries its best to politicize the issue of POWs and disparage the Armenian army.
“In the past 24 year, no Armenian prisoner of war was put on trial or persecuted after his return to the homeland. Unlike Azerbaijan where a man was even sentenced to death,” she said.
