Karapetian: Political forces of Armenia came to agreements for 20 years
The leader of People’s Party Tigran Karapetian does not pin his hopes on the new government of Armenia. He made that statement at a press conference today.
“People should not have great hope of them,” he noted.
As regards the appointment of Hovik Abrahamian as prime minister, Karapetian expressed an opinion that the change of the prime minister will not change anything in Armenia.
“Hovik Abrahamian’s appointment is due to the fact that the president of the country thinks about his further actions. The prime minister’s change is not related to demands of people. I don’t think that Hovik Abrahamian will be able to do anything for the people,” Karapetian said. In his words, it is time for people to unite and form a common front.
“And they should not rally round three or four non-coalition political forces – it is necessary to form a common popular front,” Karapetian said.
Speaking about the four non-coalition forces, Tigran Karapetian said that in the past 20 years political forces of Armenia have come to agreements with each other over something, but nothing changes in the country as a result of that.
“Opposition has become a means of blackmailing each other. Today Arthur Baghdasarian declares he is an opposition force, but the leader of Orinats Yerkir Party already discredited himself: he enters a coalition at one moment and leaves it at another,” Karapetian said.
