Prime Minister Abrahamian ready to continue discussions with MPs
Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamian today conducted a consultation on the Law on Accumulative Pensions. Members of the parliamentary factions of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), ARFD, Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), Orinats Yerkir Party (OEK), and Heritage Party took part in the consultation, according to the press service of the Armenian government.
The meeting participants stressed the need for such a format of political cooperation and the importance of its consistency. The representatives of political forces underlined the need of establishing open and free cooperation between the parliamentary forces and the government, including cooperation on controversial issues, which will help build up trust in the country.
Hovik Abrahamian assured those present that he attaches importance to cooperation with the parliamentary factions on different issues and problems and he is prepared for a further dialog in various formats. During a constructive dialog, the representatives of political forces presented their positions and proposals concerning the pension reforms.
The head of government reminded those present that a draft law will be prepared on a tight timetable and its adoption by the Armenian parliament will stop the calculation of fines until the examination of the legislative package on accumulative pensions, as envisaged by the decision of April 2, 2014 of the Constitutional Court of RA.
The prime minister expressed his readiness to continue discussions with MPs and all interested parties for finding comprehensive resolutions to the current problems in the accumulative pension system.
