Markarov: No changes expected in negotiating process
No changes are expected in the negotiating process on the Karabakh conflict settlement, political scientist Alexander Markarov told reporters today.
“Although U.S. Co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick expressed hope for progress at the summit of Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents, changes are not expected in the negotiating process now,” Markarov noted.
As regards tensions on the border, the political scientist said such actions took place previously and will continue as long as negotiations are underway.
“Azerbaijan’s subversive actions are yet another failed attempt of self-affirmation. Such subversive acts are of a regular nature. They will continue. The Armenian armed forces rapidly and adequately react to these actions and the Azerbaijani side is aware of it. The actions of Armenian troops in Tavush, Karabakh and on the border with Nakhijevan bear evidence of this,” Markarov said.
