Health Ministry: There is no intestinal flu outbreak in Armenia
There is no outbreak of “intestinal or stomach flu” in Armenia, the correspondent of Aysor.am learned from Armenian Health Ministry.
The spokeswoman for the ministry Anahit Haytyan said that media reports about stomach flu are not true.
Director general of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention Lilit Avetisyan said for her part that there is no such thing as “intestinal or stomach flu” in medical science.
According to Ms. Avetisyan, rumors of an infection started to circulate in Kajaran recently and the health ministry was notified of that. “It was a minor local outbreak that is already declining,” she noted.
“Chorrord Ishkhanutyun” paper reported today that residents of some administrative districts in Yerevan became infected with an infection called “intestinal flu”.
