Heritage Party proposes holding early elections in 2016
Holding substantive discussions on the constitutional reforms in Armenia means ignoring the simple truth that 70% of the state budget is in a risk zone, the head of Heritage parliamentary faction Ruben Hakobyan said during the conference on constitutional reforms.
In his words, Heritage Party will address these reforms only when the authorities discuss and accept the proposals submitted by their party.
Heritage’s proposals are mostly related to three issues – changes to the Electoral Code, adoption of a law giving supervisory levers to the opposition, and holding early national elections after the constitutional referendum.
“Given lack of time, we may propose holding elections in 2016,” Ruben Hakobyan said.
