Karolos Papoulias: Armenian-Greek relations are dynamically developing
The relationship between the peoples of Armenia and Greece was and remains close and fraternal, Greek President Karolos Papoulias said during the Armenian-Greek business forum in Yerevan today. According to him, relations of the two peoples are being strengthened thanks to the Armenian community of Greece and the Greek community of Armenia. The Greek president stressed that the Armenian community plays an important role in the economic life of Greece.
“Relations between Armenia and Greece are dynamically developing,” Karolos Papoulias stated, noting that his visit to Armenia testifies to the intention to further develop and cement these ties.
He appreciated highly the cooperation of the two countries in a number of spheres including economy, culture, education, science, and defense as well as cooperation in international organizations.
“This forum is yet another step towards the development of bilateral relations in all the spheres,” the president of Greece said.
When speaking about economic cooperation of Armenia and Greece, K. Papoulias stressed that it is inferior to the level of political cooperation and the current forum of Armenian and Greek entrepreneurs in Yerevan provides yet another opportunity to boost economic links.
