Greek president: Turkish leadership’s statements not reassuring
The state relations between Armenia and Greece have always been noted for their high level, President of Greece Karolos Papoulias stated following the talks with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.
In his words, the Armenian president familiarized him with the Karabakh conflict’s peaceful settlement process. “I informed President Sargsyan about the latest developments related to the Cyprus problem. I said that the problem is now in a crucial stage where the aim is to put an end to the Turkish occupation. Yet I should note that the recent statements of Turkish leadership are not reassuring,” K. Papoulias said.
According to him, the Ukrainian issue was also discussed. “We are following the events in Syria and Iraq with deep concern. We are concerned about the security of Middle East’s Christian population who are unfortunately becoming a target of radicals,” the Greek president said.
