MPs on law on turnover tax: Government has no intention to give in
Deputies of parliamentary factions of Orinats Yerkir (OEK), Prosperous Armenia, and Armenian National Congress parties – Heghine Bisharyan, Tigran Urikhanyan, Vahan Babayan, Nikol Pashinyan and others - met with demonstrators outside the Armenian parliament. Following the parliamentary discussions with government members, they said the government has no intention of withdrawing the Law on Turnover Tax.
Ms. Bisharyan urged those present not to give up the struggle and to demand answers to all the questions from government members. She said that tomorrow morning representatives of small and medium enterprises shall gather outside the Armenian government prior to the regular session.
“I told you yesterday to close the parliament doors before the government members, but you did not listen to me. We don’t have enough MPs to advance the issue, it is in the hands of the political majority,” she said.
T. Urikhanyan for his part urged the protesters to continue their struggle in Liberty Square. He invited them to attend the joint rally of three parliamentary forces on October 10.
