Ruben Hakobyan: The people expect word to become deed
The leader of Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian will attend the October 24 rally of three non-pro-government political forces of the Armenian parliament, the head of Heritage faction Ruben Hakobyan said today during a briefing in the parliament after the regular working discussion of the trio.
“We and Raffi Hovannisian raised an important issue for participation in the rally – the formation of a common agenda, a common roadmap on which we are working now,” R. Hakobyan noted.
Speaking about the October 10 rally held in Yerevan’s Liberty Square, he said that various opinions may be expressed, but one thing is certain: it was an extraordinary rally as people expected consolidation and a consolidated rally did take place.
“The rally was neither the first nor the last one. Naturally, during the rally we had some problems related to the turnout and quality. As regards the political forces, each of them had their expectations and their agenda of action,” Hakobyan said.
Commenting on the upcoming rally, R. Hakobyan said it is also going to be a joint rally, while the contents of speeches and actions depend on the people’s mood. “The people expect the word to become a deed, and the deed should be common,” the faction head said.
As for the speech of the leader of Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) Gagik Tsarukyan at the rally, Hakobyan said: “The issue of a change of power has already been raised. It will soon be clear what actions will be taken and at what level. Everyone is waiting for his speech”.
