Artyom Asatryan: We are ready for discussions in any format
A meeting with representatives of NGOs took place today as part of public debates on amendments and additions to the Law on Temporary Disability Allowances, the press service of Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs reported.
The efficiency and appropriateness of expenditures on allowances and the impact of subjective factors on these expenditures was discussed at the meeting, during which various proposals were voiced. In particular, meeting participants proposed considering 300,000 drams as the upper limit as in this case women receiving low wages will not suffer, and a proposal was made to pay a child care benefit of 18,000 drams to nonworking women.
Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artyom Asatryan stressed the importance of public debates on the bill at the current stage.
“Any proposal stems from our common interests and goals so they should be discussed,” he noted.
According to the minister, the Armenian government is prepared for discussions in any format.
“We are open for public debates, we are ready to hear and accept reasonable proposals and we want to involve parliamentary deputies, employers and all interested parties in the debates,” he said.
Public debates with the participation of employers and representatives of local government bodies are also scheduled to take place soon.
