Ukraine’s ambassador: No one gave permission for Yerevan-Simferopol flight
Under the bilateral agreements between Armenia and Ukraine, all regular flights between the two states shall be reconciled at an official level, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Kukhta told reporters today when speaking about reports on the upcoming launch of directs flights between Simferopol and Yerevan.
“The Ukrainian embassy in Armenia reacted to that report and can say definitely that no one gave such permission,” the ambassador said.
In his words, the authorities of Ukraine will do their best so that Crimea could be part of Ukraine again.
Commenting on the October 26 parliamentary elections in Ukraine, Ivan Kukhta noted that to some extent, these elections are a result of Maidan.
“52% of the citizens voted in the elections, which were at the center of the attention of international observers, and the European Parliament and the PACE were the first to react to the elections,” Ivan Kukhta stated. He noted that according to a statement of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Russia believes the parliamentary elections in Ukraine took place and Russia is ready to recognize the results.
As was reported, Armenia’s Main Department of Civil Aviation (MDCA) on October 25 refuted information about the operation of Yerevan-Simferopol flights. “MDCA did not receive – and therefore did not examine – a bid for operation of Yerevan-Simferopol direct flights,” the department’s spokesman Ruben Grdlezyan said.
Crimea’s Transport Minister Anatoly Tsurkin told Interfax news agency earlier that Grozny Avia airline planned to start Simferopol-Yerevan from November 16.
