EU ready to develop cooperation with Armenia
Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Karen Nazaryan received a delegation of the Working Party on Eastern Europe and Central Asia (COEST) in Yerevan yesterday. The delegation included representatives from the secretariat, the European External Action Service, the European Commission and 17 EU member-states, Armenian Foreign Ministry said.
K. Nazaryan discussed Armenia-EU cooperation, relations of Armenia with neighboring states, regional processes, the participation of Armenia in various integration processes, and issues related to the Eastern Partnership summit to be held in Riga in 2015.
According to Petteri Vuorimaki, the chair of the EU’s Working Party on Eastern Europe and Central Asia (COEST), coordinator of the delegation, the EU is ready to develop cooperation with Armenia. He noted that the impressive number of delegates was the best proof the EU’s interest in Armenia.
It is the second visit of COEST representatives to Armenia. The first visit of a fact-finding delegation took place in 2004.
